So a 1P compact pack uses a total of 5 cells, a 2P pack has 10 cells, and a 3P pack has 15. When we talk about a 1P pack, it means there’s 1 set of 5 cells. But other than the extended lifespan, there are several downsides that make NiCd batteries less appealing. The main advantage of NiCd batteries is that they generally have the longest cycle life at approximately 1,000 charges. Nickel-cadmium batteries use nickel oxide hydroxide and metallic cadmium as electrodes. They’re also the most expensive, so a lithium-ion battery may not be the right choice if you’re on a strict budget. Li-ion batteries have the shortest cycle life at under 500 charges.
